History

GESCO was founded in 1989 by a group of private investors with experience in the SME segment. The group included auditors, tax advisers and business owners. Their objective was to pool a portfolio of successful industrial companies from the SME segment and to tap into investment potential arising from a string of unsolved succession issues in the German “Mittelstand". Since GESCO AG was founded it has acquired a succession of companies and compiled a portfolio of strategically interesting subsidiaries. GESCO focuses on the segments tool manufacture, mechanical engineering and plastics technology.

On 24 March 1998 the company listed on the stock exchange, reaching an objective it had pursued from the outset.

Today GESCO AG is the holding of a group of economically sound and well positioned industrial companies in the SME segment. The GESCO share is listed in the Prime Standard, the regulated market of Frankfurt Stock Exchange, in XETRA as well as in open market trading at exchanges in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.  Since June 2008, the GESCO share is listed in the SDAX.
